Laura Bonner

Laura farms a flock of 80 pedigree Lleyn sheep at Tyrellcote Farm in rural Buckinghamshire, alongside her father, who runs a herd of 150 beef suckler cattle.

The farm is located in an area where iodine deficiency is known to occur, and deficiencies have previously been identified on the farm. Laura had concerns that trace element status could be holding back flock performance, with smaller offspring and lambs that appeared to lack thrive and vigour.

Following advice from a local animal health specialist, Laura introduced Coseicure Sheep soluble glass trace element boluses ahead of lambing. Since then, she has been impressed with the performance of the flock and the noticeable difference she has observed following supplementation.

This year, in particular, challenging conditions and poor-quality grazing have reinforced Laura’s decision to use Coseicure.

“I’m especially glad that I used Coseicure this year. With the drought and poor-quality grazing, it gives me peace of mind knowing the flock has consistent trace element supplementation.”

Laura’s experience has also prompted the family to consider their approach to trace element supplementation in the cattle herd. Her father currently uses an alternative trace element supplement but, with concerns around possible iodine deficiency, plans to consult with his vet and consider switching to Coseicure Cattle after being impressed with the results Laura has seen in her sheep.
